The Alton Community Campus
HDSB (Halton District School Board) is teaming up with the City of Burlington as well as Burlington Public Library for a truly unique and outstanding community project called the Alton Community Campus. The Alton Community Campus will include three facilities: a three storey public high school, a community library and a public community centre. The campus will also include the Norton Community Park on the east side of Tim Dobbie Drive. The Alton Community Centre project is scheduled to begin late this summer and to be completed in fall 2013.

1) Public High School (yet to be named)
The high school will be 156 000 square feet with 3 gymnasiums and is expected to house 1500 students who are permitted to use the community centre`s athletic facilities. The school will have a lit field with artificial turf with an eight lane track. The school’s gymnasiums are open to the public during weekends and weeknights. 2013 opening is anticipated.
2) Community Library
The community library will be almost 11 500 square feet, combining both the public library with the high school library, creating a learning environment for both students and public.
3) Community Centre
The community centre will be 55 000 square feet and will be located directly across the street from Norton Community Park.
